Ashanti has no dilemma about sharing pregnancy updates.
One day after announcing she was expecting her first child with fiancé Nelly, the "Foolish" singer put her baby bump on full display while rocking a gorgeous blue dress at a marketing conference in Miami.
In a video posted to her Instagram Story April 18, Ashanti stood on a rooftop by the beach, her long hair tied back in ponytail and paired with statement gold earrings. While the wind blew through her updo, the 43-year-old panned down to show off her growing bump in her sapphire-colored, form-fitting dress.
Atop the stunning video, Ashanti simply added a heart emoji and tagged Nelly, 49, who she confirmed her engagement with on the same day she announced she had a baby on the way.
But Ashanti's bump debut wasn't her only stylish reveal as of late. The "Rock Wit U" singer also went all-out to share her pregnancy news, posting a video of her preparing for a performance alongside lyrics from her 2002 song "Baby." When asked how much more time she needs, Ashanti replied in the clip, "I'm gonna need about nine months."
And as a first-time mom, Ashanti confessed this is an experience she's been wanting for a long time.
"This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation," she told Essence, which broke her engagement news April 17. "Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience."
As for Nelly—who is already father to daughter Chanelle, 30, and son Cornell Haynes III, 25, with ex Channetta Valentine, as well as to adopted kids Shawn and Sydney Thomas, the children of his late sister Jackie Donahue—the "Ride Wit Me" rapper shared a similar sentiment on getting married for the first time.
"I've never been married," he said on a September episode of Boss Moves with Rasheeda. "My goal is to die married—it's not to have been married. You see what I'm saying? When I make that oath, tellin' you, death do us part for real. You know what I'm saying? But I think the goal is to leave this earth knowing that you had somebody that loved you and was with you."
